Valerie Moffatt, BS, MS, SPHR, GPHR, is a career human resource professional and her most recent position was HR Leader, Talent with Collins Aerospace based in Windsor Locks, CT.
She has 20 years with United Technologies Corporation (UTC), a Fortune 50 company, and has worked at several UTC divisions including Pratt & Whitney, UTC Corporate Operations and Collins, where she has gained extensive experience in training, coaching and mentoring current and future leaders at all levels of the organization.
Valerie has partnered with Collin’s leadership to implement and enhance the strategy in the area of the employee experience, including culture, engagement, and leadership and organizational development. She is a certified instructor by Korn Ferry to facilitate the Inclusion Leadership Curriculum domestically and globally for UTC. She is also certified in Change Management by Hitachi Consulting and a certified associate in UTC’s Continuous Improvement Operating System.
Prior to joining UTC, Valerie held HR generalist and specialist roles in the public sector, including Northeast Region Labor & Employee Relations Manager and Staffing, Compensation & Benefits Manager, at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. She also served as the Labor Relations Officer for the States of Connecticut and Rhode Island, Department of the Treasury – Internal Revenue Service.
Valerie holds a Bachelors’ in Business Administration from Central Connecticut State University, a Masters’ in Human Resources from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and will be completing her MBA in International Business at the Barney School of Business at the University of Hartford this year. She has earned two human resources professional certifications – Senior & Global Professional in Human Resources from the HR Certification Institute and has been a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) for over twenty years. She is a professional speaker and panelist for SHRM and the Tri-State Diversity Council.
