The primary objective of this training is to equip people managers with the necessary skills to effectively handle the diverse employee issues that arise on a daily basis, despite their busy schedules.
The training will focus on various areas including, but not limited to:
- Effectively communicating and working with employees
- Resolving conflicts before they escalate into more significant issues
- Developing the performance of individuals and teams
- Improving systems, processes, and decision-making.The program will be offered as a hybrid, both onsite and virtually, and it will be led by one of our certified and experienced Boss Builders professional trainers. Before the training session, you’ll have an opportunity to discuss any specific nuances of the group with the trainer and ask any questions you may have.
ONSITE Day #1
Module 1 – Introductions
Welcome to Driving Results! Over the next 12 months we’ll learn practical tips and techniques that will help you excel in your role as The Boss and get your direct reports to be more motivated and productive. This first session is an orientation to the program as well as a way to introduce yourself to your cohort.
Module 2 – Expectations
The role of a manager is challenging considering the numerous changes you’ll face. To be successful, you need to balance the needs of the people against the needs of the organization. To do this requires new skills.
Module 3 – Communication
Communication is an organization’s life blood. This module is designed to show you the importance of good communication, how to build rapport with others, and how to avoid your unconscious biases.
Module 4 – Temperament
Your hard-wired personality impacts how you live, lead, and communicate. By understanding your personality (explained through the Kiersey Temperament Sorter), you can bring the best of your to your leadership and improve the relationships around you.
Virtual Session #1: Module 5 – Dealing with Conflict Part 1
Conflict is part of our daily lives. When it comes to conflict, we have choices on how we respond. Part one of this two-part module explores conflict management through the use of our Temperaments.
Virtual Session #2: Module 5 – Dealing with Conflict Part 2
We’ll continue talking about conflict. Part two explores self-management practices to avoid the harmful stresses of conflict and achieve a win-win situation whenever possible.

Module 9 – Power and Influence
This session is designed to give you new data regarding your own personal power and your most comfortable styles of influence.
Module 10 – How to Win at Organizational Politics
This session is designed to give you tools and techniques to better leverage your power and influence to get your team seen, heard, and respected.
Module 11 – Taking Charge of Your Career Development
Career plans are necessary if you want to live a professional life that is rewarding, productive, and done with purpose. Your career plans reflect YOU and you’ll need to put in the hard work to define it. This session will help you figure out next steps for further development.
